On November 6, 2019, the first round of the bilateral consultations between the Ukrainian and Omani Foreign Ministries was held in the city of Muscat. The national delegations were headed by Director-General for the Middle East and Africa of the MFA of Ukraine Myroslava Shcherbatiuk and Head of East Europe Department of the MFA of the Sultanate of Oman Ahmad Al-Hinaie.
During the meeting, the sides discussed a wide range of issues related to the further development of political, trade, economic and humanitarian components of Ukrainian-Omani relations, as well as the extension of their legal framework. An open exchange of views on current political and security processes and trends in the regional and international arenas also accompanied the negotiations.
Besides, during the visit Myroslava Shcherbatiuk conducted meetings with Under-Secretary at the Foreign Ministry of the Sultanate of Oman for Diplomatic Affairs Khalifa Al-Harthy and representatives of the State General Reserve Fund of Oman and the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry as well as participated in the solemn reception on the occasion of the Independence Day of Ukraine.
