On December 20-26, 2018 a delegation of Ukrainian orientalists, consisting of a director of the Institute of Oriental Studies O.Bogomolov and representatives of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv – professor at the Department of languages and literatures of the Near and Middle East V.Rybalkin and a head of the Egyptian center for Arabic language and culture O.Khomitska, visited the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as the guests of the 33^rd National Festival for Heritage and Culture "Al-Jenadriyah" (among other foreign intellectuals and writers).

The Ukrainian delegation met with the Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, as well as attended the ceremony of opening the festival and many seminars on socio-political and cultural issues, visited various historical monuments in Riyadh and its suburbs.

In order to initiate direct interaction between the Ukrainian and Saudi analytical and research institutions the delegates also visited the Center for Research & Intercommunication Knowledge.
