On October, 31 – November, 01 2017 the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko conducted an official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The Head of State held negotiations with the King of Saudi Arabia Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture Abdulrahman bin Abdulmohsen Al-Fadhly, Managing Director of the Public Investment Fund Yasir bin Othman Al-Rumayyan and Secretary General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani. A separate meeting was held between the Ukrainian and Saudi Ministers for Foreign Affairs Pavlo Klimkin and Adel Al-Jubeir.

The parties discussed the issues of bilateral political, investment, trade-economic, military-technical and humanitarian cooperation.

In the course of the visit, a number of documents on bilateral cooperation in the sphere of training of diplomatic staff, investment cooperation in agriculture and cooperation in the information sphere, as well as the Memorandum of Understanding on the mechanism of consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and the GCC Secretariat General were signed.
